CEO says Rostec wants to make equipment for data storage

TULA, Apr 23 (PRIME) -- Russian state industrial holding Rostec is interested in manufacturing equipment to store information under the data retention law, which starts working on October 1, CEO Sergei Chemezov told reporters on Monday.

Rostec has some solutions to store data, Chemezov said without elaboration.

The government approved earlier in April the rules, under which connection operators must keep user traffic for 30 days, which means that operators must raise their storage capacities by 15% annually.

State-controlled telecom operator Rostelecom said earlier that it will find it rather difficult to fulfil the requirements because of a lack of certified equipment.
